Rice Lake,WI : Rice Lake crash traps woman in vehicle on January, Sunday 21st 2018

A 19-year-old Rice Lake woman sustained non-life threatening injuries after veering into a ditch and striking a tree in Barron County on Sunday, according to a Wisconsin State Patrol news release.

At about 11:53 a.m., a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper responded to a one car crash on County Highway M near Rice Lake. When the officer arrived, the driver of the 2001 Buick, Kelly Anne Sieja, was injured and trapped in the vehicle.

According to the release, the vehicle was traveling north on County Highway M, north of 17 1/4 Avenue, when the driver lost control and struck a tree on the driver’s side of the vehicle. Sieja was flown by helicopter to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minn.

Alcohol is not believed to be an attributing factor in the crash. No passengers were in the vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
