Marshall, MO : 3 sustain minor injuries from Route 240 crash on Tuesday, January 24, 2017

Three people were transported to hospitals after two vehicles seemed to narrowly miss a head-on collision on Route 240 Tuesday, Jan. 24.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 1998 Ford Taurus -- driven by Collin R. Black, 20, of Raymore -- changed lanes near Lime Avenue in an attempt to pass another vehicle. While changing lanes, he traveled into the path of a 1992 Dodge Caravan -- driven by Rodney E. Short, 49, of Slater. Black's vehicle struck the Caravan in the driver's side, the report stated.

Black was transported to University of Columbia Hospital by Saline County Ambulance. Saline County Ambulance transported his passenger -- Hope L. Winston, 25, of Gilliam -- as well as Short to Fitzgibbon Hospital. All sustained minor injuries, according to the report.

MSHP was assisted on scene by the Saline County Sheriff's Department.
