Abilene, TX : 61-year-old man killed in a one-vehicle rollover on State Highway 70 north of Rotan on Thursday, August 18, 2016

A 61-year-old Rotan man was killed in a one-vehicle rollover Thursday on State Highway 70 about six miles north of Rotan.

The Department of Public Safety identified the victim as Jack C. Price. Price was driving a 2014 International Work Star truck south on the highway about 10 a.m. Thursday during wet, rainy conditions.

The DPS reported he was unable to negotiate a curve and the truck went into a side skid. It ran off the west side of the road and rolled over several times, coming to rest in a field.

Price apparently was not wearing a seat belt, according to the DPS. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Trooper Jeff Myers of Sweetwater investigated the accident.
