UTICA, NY : Utica police car involved in accident on way to another crash on Tuesday, November, 21st 2017

A city police car was involved in an accident at 3 p.m. Tuesday on its way to another crash on Oriskany Street, just west of Genesee Street.

Utica police Lt. Bryan Coromato said the driver of the car that was involved with the accident with the police car was taken to St. Luke’s Campus of the Mohawk Valley Health System with a minor injury. The officer was not injured.

The original crash, at Oriskany and Seneca, resulted in a utility pole being taken down and traffic delays. Coromato said a semi-truck, traveling north on Seneca and turning east on Oriskany Street, took down a pole with telephone and cable lines.

Utility wires from the pole landed on the vehicle and National Grid responded.

Coromato said there were no injuries in this crash.

Eastbound and westbound traffic on Oriskany Street was closed for almost an hour.

Utica police and fire crews responded.
