Two Iowans were killed in a head-on wrong-way crash Thursday in Muscatine County.

Authorities said the crash happened about 4:26 a.m. on Highway 61 at the 107 mile marker.

According to an Iowa State Patrol report, a Silverado truck was driven by Zach Robert Whitsel, 36, of Davenport, was for unknown reasons traveling northbound in the southbound lanes.

The truck collided with a Chevy Impala driven by Charles Frank Dibbern, 51, of Davenport.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
