A 36-year-old Muskegon man was injured when his motorcycle was struck by a car late Friday night on U.S. 31 south of Stanton Street.

Richard Medacco suffered leg and back injuries in the 9:21 p.m. crash. He was wearing a helmet, said Sgt. Christie Wendt of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

Medacco was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle north on U.S. 31, when a car came off the Michigan turn, into his lane and struck the motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike, Wendt said.

The car momentarily stopped at a gas station just north of the scene, and then left, Wendt said.
