Sacramento,CA : 1 injured in multiple car crash on 605 Freeway on August, Friday 18th 2017

A multiple-car crash sent one person to the hospital and shut down four lanes of the northbound 605 Freeway on Friday morning.

The injury collision occurred on the northbound 605 Freeway, south of Slauson Avenue around 8:20 a.m.

The initial call to the California Highway Patrol mentioned a bus and four cars. However, fire and CHP officials said three vehicles were involved in the collision.

Details about how the crash happened weren’t available yet.

CHP Officer Peter Nicholson said a SigAlert was issued at 8:34 a.m. for the carpool lanes and three lanes on the northbound 605 Freeway.

Marvin Lim, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department, said an ambulance took one person to a hospital. He didn’t know the extent of the person’s injuries.

It was the second crash involving the 605 Freeway that morning. An earlier solo crash in Cerritos closed the transition road from the eastbound 91 Freeway to the northbound 605 Freeway.

Nicholson said a big rig carrying tires overturned on the transition road around 6:50 a.m. The truck’s cargo didn’t spill.

Firefighters responded, but no one was transported to a hospital, according to Lim.
