MT. OLIVE, MS : One fatality and at least four people injured after a six-vehicle accident on Sunday, June 18, 2017

The Mississippi Highway Patrol has confirmed one fatality and at least four people injured after a six-vehicle accident in Mt. Olive.

The accident occurred just after 4:00 p.m. on southbound US 49 near the MS 35 intersection. A car was stopped at the light at MS 35 when a semi truck rear-ended the vehicle, causing a chain reaction with a total of six cars.

MHP is not releasing the identity of the victim at this time, and the accident is under investigation.
