Memphis, TN : A man was injured when he was hit by a car at Elvis Presley Boulevard and Whitaker Street On Thursday, August 18th, 2016

A man was injured when he was hit by a car in Whitehaven early Thursday morning.

The crash happened near the intersection of Elvis Presley Boulevard and Whitaker Street. On the scene, WMC Action News 5 crews found two cars, a sedan and a truck.

It appears that the sedan hit the man walking in the street. The truck also had damage to its front end and may have hit the back of the sedan.

A witness said the driver of the sedan got out to help the man immediately after the crash and waited for emergency crews to arrive.

The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

It's unclear at this time if either driver was cited or detained by police.
