Chesterton, IN : Winfield man dies in accident in Porter Township on Thursday, January, 11th 2018

A Winfield man died on Thursday in a two-vehicle accident on County Line Road in Porter Township.

Porter County Coroner Chuck Harris has identified the victim as Kurt Falkenberg, 36.

The accident occurred at 12:39 p.m. on County Line Road just south of East 129th Ave. in the Lakes of the Four Seasons, Harris said. Falkenberg was the driver of a Toyota Camry which collided with a Pontiac Grand Am.

Falkenberg--who was wearing a seatbelt--was pronounced dead at the scene, Harris said, and an autopsy has been scheduled for today.

Harris did say that Falkenberg’s passenger in the Camry is a suspect in an aggravated assault and home invasion at the Gas-Lite Mobile Home Park in Hebron, under investigation by Hebron Police. There was no information on the passenger’s condition following the accident.
