An 80-y a two-car wreck in Lehigh Countyear-old Slatington man died Friday in, after he failed to stop at an intersection, according to authorities.

Charles Eaches died at the scene of the crash that occurred just after 3 p.m. at Best Station and Spur roads in Washington Township, according to a news release from Pennsylvania State Police at the Bethlehem barracks. The Lehigh County Coroner's Office pronounced Eaches dead.

Eaches, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was driving south on Spur Road, when he failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection with Best Station Road, according to police. He drove through the intersection, colliding with an embankment on the south side of Best Station Road, police said.

A vehicle driven by 52-year-old Robby Micklus, of Macungie, then struck the back of Eaches' vehicle, causing it spin clockwise and flip onto the driver's side, according to police. Eaches' vehicle ended up facing west in the eastbound lane of Best Station Road, police said.

Firefighters and emergency medical personnel attempted to remove Eaches from the vehicle and provide medical attention, according to police. Micklus was wearing a seatbelt.
