Venice,FL : Man is injured in accident involving garbage truck in Venice on April, sunday 23th 2017

A 26-year-old man was injured during an accident involving a garbage truck in Venice on Sunday.

According to Sarasota County Emergency Services, the man was in the back of the truck at the Waste Management Facility when the incident occurred. He was taken to an area hospital around 5 p.m. as a trauma alert. His condition is unclear at this time, according to an SNN-TV report.

It is unknown if the man was a waste management employee, and the incident is under investigation.

Waste Management officials declined to comment about the incident.
