A man died in a one-car crash in North Canaan Sunday night, state police said.
Matthew Holderman, 46, of Canaan Valley Road in Canaan was pronounced dead after the crash on Route 7, they said.
State police said the crash happened in the area of Sand Road about 10:20 p.m., when Holderman was headed north in a 2011 GMC Sierra 2500 pickup. He was driving on a curve to the right when he lost control for an unknown reason, they said.
The truck went off the right side of the road, struck a set of mailboxes and hit a utility pole before flipping onto its roof, police said.
Troopers continue to investigate. Anyone with information that may help investigators is asked to call Trooper Roger LaPointe at the Troop B barracks in North Canaan at 860-626-1820.
