Colonie, N.Y : Central NY man killed in Albany-area hit-and-run crash on Sunday, January 8, 2017

Police in suburban Albany are searching for the driver of a car that fatally struck a central New York man who was in town for Army National Guard training over the weekend.

Police in Colonie (kah-luh-NEE’) identify the victim as 57-year-old Rudolph Seabron of Rome, a master sergeant in the Guard’s Combat Aviation Brigade based in Latham, an Albany suburb.

The death was first reported just before 5 a.m. Sunday by a driver on Watervliet-Shaker Road. Police say an investigation showed another driver had struck Seabron and left the scene.

Police are searching for a Mazda 6 with front end damage.

Police say Seabron joined the New York Army National Guard in 1996 after serving in the Marine Corps. He served in Iraq in 2004, Afghanistan in 2008 and Kuwait in 2012.
