19-Year Old Killed In Collision near Little Rock Arkansas

A 19-year-old driver from Booneville was killed Tuesday when his Jeep crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a truck, authorities said.

Arkansas State Police say it happened as John Daniel Phillips was driving a 2003 Jeep west on Arkansas 10 about 5 miles east of Danville in Yell County.

Shortly before 3 p.m., the Jeep crossed the centerline and struck an eastbound Freightliner truck head-on, according to a preliminary report.
Phillips was pronounced dead at the scene about half an hour after the collision.

The truck driver, identified as Victor T. Scrivner, 34, of Grapevine, was taken to Chambers Hospital in Danville with unspecified injuries.
