Newport News, VA : Driver killed in crash in Virginia Beach on Thursday, August 17, 2017

Virginia Beach police are investigating a deadly crash on Lynnhaven Parkway Thursday morning, officials said.

The crash happened just before 7 a.m. at the intersection of Lynnhaven Parkway and Gravenhurst Drive, MPO Linda Kuehn said in a news release.

Investigators think the victim's vehicle was on Gravenhurst Drive, making a left turn onto Lynnhaven Parkway when it was struck by an oncoming vehicle that was traveling northbound on Lynnhaven Parkway, Kuehn said.

The victim died at the scene, she said.

No additional information has been released.
