Rankin County, MS : Brandon man dead in a one vehicle accident on Loflin Road near Westville Road on Sunday night, November 9, 2014

The Rankin County Sheriff's Department is investigating a one vehicle accident on Loflin Road near Westville Road. The crash happened at around 6:40 pm on Sunday night. Deputies along with the Star Fire Department and AMR responded to the scene. Officials found that a 2001 Buick passenger car had been driving west on Loflin Road. They say the vehicle appeared to have run off the right side the roadway, striking a utility pole and causing heavy damage to the car. The driver was identified as 41-year-old Jason L. Walters of Brandon. Officials say Walters succumbed to his injuries and died on the scene. The accident is currently under investigation by Rankin County Deputies.
