ST. PETERSBURG, FL : Lutz man dies in motorcycle crash on I-275 in St. Petersburg on Sunday, 15th July 2018

A 38-year-old man died Sunday night after the Florida Highway Patrol said he lost control of his motorcycle on Interstate 275.

The crash took place just before 8 a.m. Michael Coniglio, of Lutz, was traveling in the northbound inside lane of Interstate 275, the FHP said, and was approaching 22nd Avenue N.

That’s where the motorcyclist lost control and struck a guardrail, troopers said.

Coniglio was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead, the FHP said.

He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, troopers said. Alcohol was ruled out as a factor in the crash.
