FRESNO, CA : Two men died and one was gravely injured after their pickup truck plunged down a ravine in central California on May,Tuesday 2nd 2017

Authorities say two men died and one was gravely injured after their pickup truck plunged down a ravine in central California.

California Highway Patrol Officer Vic Taylor tells the Fresno Bee (http://bit.ly/2p3rB40) the survivor had major injuries and was airlifted to a Fresno hospital Tuesday.

Vic says the men’s vehicle tumbled down off a cliff on Highway 168 on Monday and that a firefighter riding in the back of a fire truck spotted about 12 hours after it crashed.

Cal Fire Capt. Jeremiah Wittwer says two unidentified Clovis men, ages 19 and 20, died in the accident. Firefighters who rappelled down extricated another Clovis man from the vehicle after removing the roof. He was identified as 24-year-old Jason Kirby.

Wittwer says it’s not known why the truck went off the road.
