A man was killed when his car crashed into a utility pole early Friday morning on Brotherton Road in Oakley.

James Peyton, 67, died when the 2009 Scion he was driving east on Brotherton, near Marburg Avenue, went left of center and smashed into the pole.

Peyton was wearing a seat belt but neither speed nor impairment appeared to be factors, Cincinnati police noted.

Several blocks of Brotherton Road were closed for two hours after the crash. Brotherton was shut down from Ballard to Ridge avenues from about 5:30 to about 7:30 a.m.
