Bath, ME : Three go to hospitals after car hits school bus in West Bath on Wednesday, December 17, 2014

A car carrying two people crashed into a school bus carrying seven students on State Road in West Bath Wednesday. Police said the car, driven by Philip Wallace of Phippsburg, crossed over the center line of the road and hit the bus. Wallace and his passenger Rebecca Dyer of Phippsburg, suffered significant injuries. Wallace was taken to Maine Medical Center, while Dyer was taken to a nearby hospital. Only two of the students on the bus suffered minor injuries, and at least one was transported to a local hospital. The driver of the school bus, Raymond Bernier of Oakland, was not injured. Bath and Brunswick police departments, along with the Sagadohoc Sheriff's Office, are still investigating the crash. Officials believe that drugs and alcohol were a factor in the crash.
