Fort Lauderdale, FL : 1 motorcyclist killed, another severely injured in crash on I-95 in Fort Lauderdale on Thursday, 23rd May 2024

One motorcyclist was killed and another was severely injured in a crash on Interstate 95 in Fort Lauderdale that caused major traffic backups Thursday morning.

The crash happened around 3 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-95 near Sunrise Boulevard.

Florida Highway Patrol officials said a man on a 2020 BMW motorcycle was on the highway when his bike went down for unknown reasons.

The man was thrown from the motorcycle and was run over by unknown vehicles, FHP officials said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
