Joplin, MO : Golden City man injured in traffic accident on Tuesday August 30, 2016

A Golden City man suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 3:47 p.m. Tuesday on Interstate 49, 2 miles south of Jasper in Jasper County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Jerod M. Morey, 34, was taken to Mercy Hospital Joplin.

Morey was driving a southbound pickup truck that ran into the rear of a tractor-trailer rig driven by Steven P. Fields, 51, of Mosinee, Wisconsin, when Fields pulled into his path from a shoulder of the road, the patrol said.
