Nemours, W.V : One person injured following head-on collision on Pinnacle Lake Road Saturday afternoon, August 20, 2016

One person was transported to Bluefield Regional Medical Center following a head-on collision between two vehicles on Pinnacle Lake Road Saturday afternoon.

The accident occurred between a green Chevy Impala and a silver Dodge Ram.

“We had a two motor vehicle head on collision,” Bluewell Fire Department Lt. Jordan Gibson said. “Two injuries. One occupant in each vehicle. The passenger in one and I’m not sure the location of the other person in the other vehicle. A Dodge Ram 1500 and a Chevy Impala.”

Gibson said the injuries to the unidentified individuals were minor. “The biggest problem was it disabled both vehicles, it took the tires off both driver sides, on the fronts of both vehicles,” Gibson said. “It blocked traffic going down Pinnacle Lake Road.”

Mercer County Sheriff’s Department, Bluewell Fire Department, and Bluefield Rescue Squad responded. “Bluewell Fire Department responded with two engines,” Gibson said. “Bluefield Rescue responded with two ambulances.”

The incident occurred at approximately 2 p.m.
