Boise, ID : Two injured in motorcycle crash on I-84 near Eagle Road on Thursday morning, August 18, 2016

Two people were injured in a motorcycle vs. vehicle crash Thursday morning on eastbound Interstate 84 near the Eagle Road exit, according Idaho State Police spokeswoman Teresa Baker.

Travis Myers, 30, of Garden City, and his passenger Melissa Thompson, 30, of Boise, were taken to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center after Myers’ Kawasaki motorcycle crashed around 7:35 a.m., according to an Idaho State Police press release.

Myers was in critical condition Thursday evening, and Thompson was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.

The crash clogged traffic during peak commuting time Thursday morning.

ISP reports Myers didn’t slow down as a Chevy Impala driven by Lorraine Tracy, 52, of Wilder, slowed down in front of him. He swerved to avoid crashing into the car, but clipped its bumper, according to a news release. Myers reportedly laid the bike down and it crashed on top of him. Thompson was thrown from the motorcycle. Neither were wearing helmets. Myers and Thompson were both transported to the hospital, but their current health status is unknown, according to ISP.

Tracy’s vehicle sustained minimal damage, and she was not injured, according to ISP.
