San Antonio, TX : Five S.A. residents dead after two-car collision in Batesville Saturday, October 29, 2016

Five San Antonio residents died in a two-car collision over the weekend in Batesville.
A Toyota Camry and Nissan Altima collided Oct. 29 on highway U.S. 57, which runs through Batesville, about 90 miles southwest of San Antonio. The Camry was headed north when it crossed over, crashing into the Nissan going south, said Sgt. Conrad Hein, Texas Department of Public Safety, in a news release.
"The driver of the Toyota Camry drove into the oncoming lane of traffic striking the Nissan Altima on the front left side," Hein said in the release, adding the Nissan was hit on the front left side of the vehicle.

Rudy Salas, 66, Lupe Garza Salas, 61, Lloyd Halsell, 58 and Darlene Wilson, 66, were pronounced dead at the scene, DPS officials said.
Maryann Garcia, 56, was in the Camry and was transported to Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio where she died due to “blunt force injuries sustained in a motor vehicle mishap,” according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s office. Her death was ruled an accident.
