Hesperia, CA : Midlands motorcycle rider killed in head-on crash involving multiple vehicles on Sunday, 11th November 2018

A man died when he was struck by a vehicle and thrown from his wheelchair late Sunday.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials haven’t released the identity of the man, who died in a crash at 9:25 p.m. Sunday on Bear Valley Road, west of I Avenue.

Officials investigating the crash said the man, in his wheelchair, was headed east in the No. 2 lane of Bear Valley Road when he was struck by a Toyota Prius, also eastbound on the same road.

The man was thrown from the wheelchair by the impact. He was pronounced dead on scene.

Officials said the driver of the Prius stopped after the crash and cooperated with investigators. A woman in the Prius reported minor injuries. No one else was hurt.

Bear Valley Road was shut down in both directions between I Avenue and Ridgecrest Road until 3:15 a.m. Monday. Alcohol and speed aren’t factors in the crash at this time, officials said.
