Slayton, MN : One dead in U.S. 59 crash on Thursday morning, August 11, 2016

A Worthington man was killed Thursday morning as a result of a pickup-motorcycle crash near the intersection of U.S. 59 and 30th Street.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 1974 Chevy pickup truck operated by Clarice L. Larson, 68, of Slayton, as well as a 2004 Yamaha motorcycle operated by John R. Spiegelhoff, 49, of Worthington, were both traveling north on U.S. 59. The Chevy slowed to make a left-hand turn on 30th Street and was struck from behind by the motorcycle, the report said. Law enforcement officers were notified of the crash at 10:10 a.m. Thursday.

Spiegelhoff was identified Friday morning as the victim of the fatal crash. Larson had no apparent injury.
