Yuma, AZ : Two injured in collision that closes intersection for several hours on Monday, December 26th 2016

The intersection of 32nd Street at Windsor Avenue was closed for a few hours on Monday while Yuma police investigated a two-vehicle collision that injured two people.

Sgt. Lori Franklin, a spokesperson for the Yuma Police Department, said that officers responded to the location at approximately 3:12 p.m. for a report of an injury accident.

Franklin said that the initial investigation revealed that a 20-year-old male, who was driving a 1998 Honda Civic, was westbound on 32nd Street when he collided with a 1993 Ford Explorer, being driven by a 69-year-old male, who was making a left turn onto Windsor Avenue from 32nd Street.

The Ford Explorer, which was eastbound on 32nd Street, turned in front of the Honda Civic, according to Franklin.

Both drivers were transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center. The 20-year-old male is in stable condition with serious injuries. The 69-year old-male received minor injuries and was released.
