GREEN VALLEY, WV : One airlifted following head-on collision in Mercer County on Thursday, October 5, 2017

One person was airlifted by helicopter to a local hospital Thursday following a head-on collision on the Mercer Mall Road.
West Virginia State Police Senior Trooper David Whitted said the incident occurred near S&S Express.
"One occupant of the vehicle was entrapped and had to be removed from the vehicle," Whitted said. "They were flown out to receive further medical treatment. Serious injuries at this point."
The collision occurred between a Subaru Forrester and a GMC Sierra.
"The driver of the GMC was also transported to the hospital," Whitted said. "He had some minor injuries."
The incident occurred around 2:10 p.m.
