GREENVILLE, SC : 2 dead, 2 hurt in crash following chase in Greenville on Friday, 12th May 2023

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office said two people are dead and two are hurt following a chase involving the Greenville Police Department.
Officers said they spotted a stolen 2021 Kia Forte near Easley Bridge Road around 9:45 p.m. However, when officers tried to pull the vehicle over, the driver allegedly refused to stop, and a chase began.
According to officers, the chase continued until officers lost sight of the vehicle and deactivated their equipment. Shortly after, troopers said the car struck a concrete barrier and overturned near the intersection of Old Piedmont Highway and SC-20.
Officials confirmed that one person passed away on scene of the crash, and three people were taken to the hospital with injuries. One of the three people taken to the hospital passed away from their injuries.
