Decatur, TX : 2 injured in rear-end wreck on Friday, 12th August, 2016

A driver and passenger were injured in a rear-end wreck on U.S. 380 east of Decatur around 9 a.m. Friday.
Department of Public Safety Trooper Lantz Elliott said a westbound Ford F-150 pickup driven by Arony R. Flores Archaga, 26, of Honduras, ran into the back end of an 18-wheeler driven by Juan Jose Barrios, 32, of Decatur. Elliott said Barrios told him he saw the pickup approaching quickly from behind before the impact. The pickup became stuck under the 18-wheeler’s trailer and was dragged about 100 yards.
Elliott said Archaga jumped from the truck while it was being dragged. His passenger, who was not identified, remained in the vehicle until it came to rest in the shoulder.
Elliott said both Archaga and his passenger were taken via Wise County EMS ambulances to area hospitals. Barrios was uninjured in the wreck.
Wise County EMS and Decatur Fire Department responded to the scene. Westbound traffic was briefly shut down as crews worked to clear the scene.
