Cocoa, FL : Two people injured in crash into a Brevard County convenience store Monday morning, August 15, 2016

Two people were hurt and a third person narrowly escaped any injuries after a vehicle careened into a Brevard County convenience store Monday morning.

The crash happened about 8:43 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 1 and Peachtree Street.

"If I didn't pay attention, I'd be dead right now," said Sowan Sui, the manager of the Chevron. A car involved in the crash went flying through the convenience store's front window.

The investigation revealed the driver of a flatbed truck was southbound when it collided with a Buick LeSabre, which was traveling east on Peachtree Street and crossing over U.S. 1, according to Cocoa Police.

The truck then catapulted a woman's Buick into the Chevron convenience store, police said.

"It appears one of the vehicles ran a red light at the intersection," said Yvonne Martinez, public information officer for the Cocoa Police Department.

Sui said he barely go out of the way as the car barreled through the glass.

"I saw the truck go to the red light and hit the car, and then I saw it fly toward me into the building," he said.

According to police, Sui dodged the woman's car and then jumped into action, extinguishing the fire that started in the car and then doing his best to rescue the female driver.

The woman was airlifted to an area hospital with serious injuries. The man driving the truck was also taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
