Fontana, CA : A 46-year-old Fontana woman died in a traffic accident in eastern Fontana on Wednesday, January, 24th 2018

A 46-year-old Fontana woman died in a traffic accident in eastern Fontana on Jan. 24, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner's Division.

At 7:40 a.m., officers with the Fontana Police Department were sent to the intersection of Randall Avenue and Alder Avenue to investigate the report of a two-vehicle collision.

Upon arrival, they found Rosa Maria Rosales-Ortiz had been driving a Honda sedan eastbound on Randall when she was struck by a Jeep traveling southbound on Alder. Rosales-Ortiz was declared deceased on scene at 7:55 a.m. by San Bernardino County Fire Department personnel.

No other persons were injured in the crash, the Fire Department said.

The Fontana P.D.'s Major Accident Investigation Team was investigating the incident.
