Racine,WI: Woman killed in Kenosha crash on October, Wednesday 11th 2017

A woman is dead after a three-vehicle crash that occurred in Kenosha Wednesday.

At approximately 9 p.m. Wednesday, Kenosha Police Department officers came upon an automobile accident at the intersection of 52th Street and 22nd Avenue in Kenosha, according to a release issued by the City of Kenosha Police Department.

The three-vehicle crash involved an SUV and a passenger car which initially crashed in the intersection. A second passenger car was also damaged in a secondary collision, the release said.

According to the release, a 22-year-old man was driving the SUV, and a 49-year-old man was driving the first passenger car, with two female passengers, 46 and 41. A 36-year-old man was driving the third car.


Due to the severity of the accident, multiple Kenosha Fire Department units responded and the intersection was shut down. Wisconsin State Patrol also responded to assist with the accident investigation, the release said.

The 46-year-old passenger died as a result of her injuries. The first passenger car's driver also sustained severe injuries and was flown by Flight For Life to an area hospital, the release said.

The vehicle's other passenger and the SUV's driver were both transported to local hospitals for non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the collision remained under investigation as of Thursday afternoon, the release stated.
