Yamhill County, OR : Man dies in car crash on Highway 22 near Grand Ronde on Monday morning, August 1, 2016

A Grand Ronde man died in a car crash Monday morning on Highway 22 in Yamhill County, officials said.

About 9:24 a.m., a northbound 2003 Nissan Sentra was stopped on Grand Ronde Road at Highway 22, Oregon State Police said. The Sentra pulled onto Highway 22 and was hit on the driver's side by a 1994 Honda Civic traveling eastbound.

Michael L. Tubbs, 62, of Grand Ronde was the driver of the Sentra and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Honda, Tyler R. Porter, 27, from Tillamook, was taken to Willamette Valley Medical Center in McMinnville with non-life threatening injuries.
