LEICESTER, MA : Pedestrian injured in crash on Stafford Street in Leicester on Tuesday, 13th November 2018

A male pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash near 398 Stafford St. Monday night, Leicester police said.

The crash was reported shortly after 9 p.m.

Police said the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene.

A police detective was summoned, as were members of the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council’s accident reconstruction unit. Police were also notifying Worcester District Attorney Joseph D. Early’s office.

The victim was taken by ambulance with what one officer called “major injuries.”

Leicester police were examining two vehicles and items in the middle of the road. One of the drivers was allowed to leave shortly after 10 p.m.

Stafford Street was closed for several hours so that accident reconstruction specialists could investigate the crash. The identity of the victim was not released.
