Coroner’s officials Sunday identified a man who was killed when his motorcycle collided with a car on winding San Francisquito Canyon Road on Saturday
The victim was Carlos Veliz, a 19-year-old Lancaster resident, a Los Angeles County Department of Coroner spokesman said.
Paramedics pronounced Veliz dead at the scene of the collision, a Los Angeles County Fire Department official said Saturday.
Veliz was riding a Yamaha motorcycle on the canyon road when it collided with a Nissan Pathfinder, about a quarter-mile south of fire Camp 14, according to California Highway Patrol Sgt. P. Haggard.
No one in the Nissan Pathfinder was seriously injured, fire officials said.
CHP officials were investigating the cause of the crash.
